Sommelier's Note
From a 0.3963-hectare parcel at the southern end of the appellation, Roumier's Amoureuses is widely considered the finest 1er Cru in all of Burgundy — and the 2020 vintage is its most fragrant in years. Wild red fruits, just a hint of roses, and a stoniness that does not diminish the fragrance. Firm on the palate in a subtle way, intense without weight. Glorious length and harmony with a sour-cherry freshness at the very end. Aged with around 60% whole bunch under Christophe Roumier's exacting hand.

The 2020 vintage in Burgundy delivered warmth and concentration tempered by surprising freshness — an unusually early harvest that yielded perfumed, structured wines from the Côte de Nuits with classic ageing potential.
Climate

Now under fifth-generation Christophe Roumier, Domaine Georges Roumier crafts what many consider Burgundy's most fragrant Pinot Noirs. The estate's tiny holdings in Chambolle's premier sites — anchored by Les Amoureuses — produce wines of unmatched perfume and silk.
